Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) by Sarah J. Maas

An assassin’s loyalties are always in doubt.
But her heart never wavers.

After a year of hard labor in the Salt Mines of Endovier, eighteen-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien has won the king's contest to become the new royal assassin. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown – a secret she hides from even her most intimate confidantes.

Keeping up the deadly charade—while pretending to do the king's bidding—will test her in frightening new ways, especially when she's given a task that could jeopardize everything she's come to care for. And there are far more dangerous forces gathering on the horizon -- forces that threaten to destroy her entire world, and will surely force Celaena to make a choice.

Where do the assassin’s loyalties lie, and who is she most willing to fight for?
OMG! That was so good. So much happened, I don’t even know where to start. Celaena is playing an even more dangerous game; last we saw, she became the king’s champion which meant she had to kill people as ordered by him, however she is betraying him by only faking their deaths. If she is found out, not only will she be in jeopardy but so will Chaol and Nehemia.

The love triangle that was set up in the first book develops loads and lets just say, its Chaol’s turn to be in the spotlight. They have been growing closer and closer and soon begin to realize that what they have been feeling might be more than just friendship. I love the fact that their romance was slow to develop as it made the moment they finally got together even more perfect. Every moment with them was AMAZING and i kept chanting “KISS ALREADY!” till it happened. Their scenes are sweet and hot and just perfect.

Unfortunately, for Dorian’s fans, there isn’t much romance with him. However, there is a lot of other stuff about him and secrets that are revealed that were quite shocking. In fact you find out alot about all three of their background, particularly Celaena that will take you completely by surprise.

I loved Celaena and still do; she is so incredibly kickass and feisty, however sometimes i do find her a bit hard to relate to. There were also times when i was a bit annoyed at her for being a hypocrite and getting mad at people for keeping secrets when she was doing the same.

There are quite a few new characters, Archer being the main one who i wasn’t quite sure whether to trust or not. There is Roland whose point i didn’t really get to be honest but he’ll probably play some bigger role in the next one. You even get to meet Chaol’s dad so it was great.

The plot is full of action, romance and twists and turns. I cant even talk about anything without spoiling it but you will not be disappointed. There is a MASSIVE death that i did not see coming and there is a really big cliffhanger so be prepared. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Of Triton (Of Poseidon, #2) by Anna Banks

In this sequel to OF POSEIDON, Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess, and now struggles with an identity crisis: As a Half-Breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm below. Syrena law states that all Half- Breeds should be put to death.

As if that’s not bad enough, her mother’s reappearance among the Syrena turns the two kingdoms—Poseidon and Triton—against one another. Which leaves Emma with a decision to make: Should she comply with Galen’s request to keep herself safe and just hope for the best? Or should she risk it all and reveal herself—and her Gift—to save a people she’s never known?

What a great book! i loved the first one and loved the second. I really enjoyed reading Of Poseidon, mainly because i love Anna bank's writing style. Its so witty and easy to get into and Emma's POV makes it even more fun to read. She's actually one of my favourite protagonists because she is so normal without being boring or pathetic and her sense of humour makes me laugh.

Galen is totally sweet and cute and adorable and i love those two together. Nothing major happens to their relationship but after the cliffhanger i am really excited to see how it develops in the next one.

I m not usually into mermaid stories but i found the plot actually quite interesting. It revolves around Nalia who is the long lost princess with the gift of Poseidon and how she has to try to get her place back. There werent any special twists or anything but its still interesting enough to keep you hooked.

I wasn't a big fan of Rayna but i really like her now as well. I love how she is a bit crazy and has temper issues and was quite fun to read about.

This series has grown on me and i m looking forward to the sequel. Not quite sure which direction its going to go after this but i m excited for it.

Siege and Storm (The Grisha #2) by Leigh Bardugo

Darkness never dies.

Hunted across the True Sea, haunted by the lives she took on the Fold, Alina must try to make a life with Mal in an unfamiliar land. She finds starting new is not easy while keeping her identity as the Sun Summoner a secret. She can’t outrun her past or her destiny for long.

The Darkling has emerged from the Shadow Fold with a terrifying new power and a dangerous plan that will test the very boundaries of the natural world. With the help of a notorious privateer, Alina returns to the country she abandoned, determined to fight the forces gathering against Ravka. But as her power grows, Alina slips deeper into the Darkling’s game of forbidden magic, and farther away from Mal. Somehow, she will have to choose between her country, her power, and the love she always thought would guide her–or risk losing everything to the oncoming storm.

WOW! that was soo good! i seriously enjoyed reading this. i love the characters and they all made the book really enjoyable. Nikolai is the new main edition and man i totally fell in love with him! he is quite arrogant and cunning, FRICKIN HOT and so, so funny. I honestly love everything that comes out of his mouth and he just made the book thousand times more fun. In fact, i prefer him to mal or the darkling.

I really like Alina and loved her in this too. She is very kickass and a really cool heroine. I adore Mal too and find his and alina's relationship really cute, however i just dont see any spark with them. I wish she would get with Nikolai instead.

People said there was a love triangle with the darkling in this but i honestly didnt feel like it. There wasnt any hint that either of them really felt that way about each other. In fact i was disappointed because i thought that would have been really interesting.

Speaking of the darkling, he was barely in it :( he was like my fav character in the last book and seriously missed him. I love how he is so evil and dark but you just feel this allure for him at the same time. He is in a bit at the start and for like a scene at the end so i m really hoping he's lots in the next one.

The plot was really good and quite a few big things happened. Some things were left a mystery and i really need to know what happened to some of the characters after the last battle and if theyre still alive. I m really loving this series and cant wait for the next installment.

Obsession (Arum, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

He’s arrogant, domineering, and... To. Die. For.

Hunter is a ruthless killer. And the Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn’t chafe too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job. That is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: protect a human from his mortal enemy.

Serena Cross didn’t believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into something... unnatural. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.

Hunter stirs Serena’s temper and her lust despite their differences. Soon he’s doing the unthinkable—breaking the rules he’s lived by, going against the government to keep Serena safe. But are the aliens and the government the biggest threats to Serena’s life… or is it Hunter?
I was really excited to read this book as i m a big fan of Jennifer and love everything by her, and also loved the world she created in the lux series. However i was a bit disappointed as it didn't live up to to my expectations.

Hunter was very much like Daemon but i didnt end up loving him like i do daemon. He was a bit too much of an asshole and too bossy which annoyed me. Serena was alright too and i liked her. They bantered a lot which made them fun to read about and i enjoyed reading about them.

We get a totally different perspective of this world this time round. In the lux series, arums were portrayed as being completely evil but in this we get to see that its not completely black and white. You find out that there are some good arums too. I found it really interesting reading about luxens portrayed as being evil.

Overall i liked this book and the plot was pretty good. There were some things that werent developed enough like the project eagle which i would have liked to find out more about. If you're a fan of jennifer's books, i would recommend it to you
