Prodigy (Legend, #2) by Marie Lu

June and Day arrive in Vegas just as the unthinkable happens: the Elector Primo dies, and his son Anden takes his place. With the Republic edging closer to chaos, the two join a group of Patriot rebels eager to help Day rescue his brother and offer passage to the Colonies. They have only one request—June and Day must assassinate the new Elector.

It’s their chance to change the nation, to give voice to a people silenced for too long.

But as June realizes this Elector is nothing like his father, she’s haunted by the choice ahead. What if Anden is a new beginning? What if revolution must be more than loss and vengeance, anger and blood—what if the Patriots are wrong?

In this highly-anticipated sequel, Lu delivers a breathtaking thriller with high stakes and cinematic action.

I totally fell in love with Day and June when i read Legend, so i was really looking forward to reading the sequel. Things are completely different in this. June has left the Republic and is on the run too with Day and they are both struggling to survive without any help. Soon, they encounter the Patriots who are willing to help them, but in return for something big!

I really liked June and Day in the last book, and now they are finally together as i had hoped, but its not smooth sailing for them. They do face a lot of difficulties because of their completely different backgrounds, and insecurities. I just wanted them to work it out and be happy again and was annoyed when they had doubts about each other.

June was really smart and kick-ass and independent and i love how intelligent she is and quickly figures things out, continuing to make shrewd decisions. Day was great and i just find him really adorable for some reason, and felt sorry for him at the end when something BIG is revealed about him.

Tess becomes a more prominent character in this, and i found her kinda annoying and clingy. Probably, cuz she was trying to get between Day and June. Anden also becomes a major part of the story and i really did like him. There are tonnes of other characters who are all kinda suspicious and you just never know when to trust someone.

The cliffhanger was big! i am really anxious after reading that ending and just hope everything works out right in the end. You guys will love this installment as its packed with awesomeness.
