The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden #2) by Julie Kagawa

Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.

Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.
I was so happy and excited when i received an ARC of it, and let me tell you, this book exceeded all my expectations. It was so DAMN GOOD! Last we saw, Allison had left Eden looking for her sire Kanin and she is still searching for him. She continues to have dreams about him being tortured and getting more and more desperate to find him before he goes mad.

The biggest surprise for me in this book was Jackal. Being Allison's blood brother, he joins her in her search to look for Kanin and they spend the entire book together. I hated him after what he did in the last book and yet i couldn't stop myself from liking him in this. He is just so funny! He made me crack up every time he opened his mouth. He is still totally crazy and has no qualms about killing humans but he just made everything so much more entertaining. I still don't know how trustworthy he is but i do like him.

Zeke shows up a lot sooner than i expected him to which was good and has stronger better since the last time we saw him. The romance gets better and they both try to make their relationship work even though Allison's a vampire. I like Zeke and everything but sadly i just don't find myself swooning over him.

Kanin is still my favourite part of the series and i do wish he had shown up sooner but still i was glad that he got a lot more time in this than he did in the last one. I felt really sorry for him in this because of how he is tortured and just love him to pieces. We also learn more about his past which i found really interesting.

Sarren return in this and i think might be one of the most terrible villains i have read about. He is completely brutal with no humanity at all! I detest him with passion and hope he really suffers for everything he did. Every time, he showed up, i would chant DIE DIE DIE!

Stick is another character that we see return; i found him annoying before but i just wanted to break his face in this. He is truly a coward and pathetic and a loser and i couldn't believe the things he did in this to make himself feel brave.

I wanted to know more about Eden in this but sadly we don't find out much about that in this and neither does any of the book take place there. However, i am sure we will discover more about that in the next one.

There is a MASSIVE cliffhanger so brace yourselves. Something really terrible happens and i am anxious to see how things are going to unfold after that. Overall, i don't really have anything negative to say - it was an AMAZING book and everyone will definitely love it.
