Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare

Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy

Tessa Gray should be happy - aren't all brides happy?
Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute.
A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa's heart, will do anything to save her.
WOAH!!! I m in shock right now because of how good that book was. I m still reeling from that ending. Too many feels! I cant believe how much this book made me cry! I know Cassie is an amazing writer but this book just surpassed all her others by a mile.

Jem, oh Jem! He made my heart break so many times! His health keeps worsening and the possibility of his death is becoming more and more real. I just cant get over what a perfect guy he is. He says the most swoon worthy things and i just wish someone would play violin for me like he plays for Tessa. I was rooting for him and Tessa throughout the whole book because Jem and Tessa are just adorable and need to be together.

I wasnt the biggest fan of Will before, mainly because he was getting in the way of Jem and Tessa. However, this book has converted me into a fan of him too. Just the love he has for Jem and how he is willing to sacrifice his happiness for the two people he loves most made me like him too. The relationship between Jem and Will is so special and amazing and made me sad for both of them.

What annoyed me was the fact that Will was making vows that he would never go after Tessa because of Jem but as soon as they thought Jem was out of the way, they got together. I mean they couldnt even wait a single day! That JUST PISSED ME OFF LIKE HELL! i M a very dedicated Jem fan and i wanted to smack them for it!

There are a lot of other romances in this book. Gideon and Sophie who i love and Gabriel and Cecily as well who i thought were perfect for each other. Cecily was a really cool, headstrong person who i grew to love and Gabriel goes from an asshole to a likable person.

We finally unravel the mysterious of what Tessa is. It wasnt some big revelation for me as half of it was alrealy explained in CP so this was kinda anticlimactic. But you do learn the exact mechanics of it and how everything happened. There is also the secret of her clockwork angel necklace and i found that really interesting.

There is a small battle at the end with Mortmain but for me the book was about the relationships between the characters and especially the love triangle. Here is a fair warning - keep a packet of tissues with you before starting the book because trust me you will need it. I can honestly say this is one of the saddest books i have ever read. In fact i was bawling pretty much the whole way through.

My favourite part was the EPILOGUE and i was soooo happy that (view spoiler)[ Jem and Tessa finally got together! (hide spoiler)] I had mixed feelings about the ending but i guess it was satisfying. An epic end for an epic series.

Teasers:

“I am nothing if not gracious,” Will said. His eyes searched Jem’s face, that face as familiar to him as his own. “And determined. You will not leave me. Not while I live.”

He looked at her with a light in his thin face that made it more beautiful. “Wo xi wang ni ming tian ke yi jia gei wo.”

“You . . .” She drew her brows together. “You want to get married? But we are already engaged. I do not think one can get engaged twice.”

He laughed, which turned into a cough; Tessa’s whole body tightened, but the cough was slight, and there was no blood. “I said I would marry you tomorrow if I could.”
